Sarah Jones Wooten, 83, died Saturday. The memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Kinston.

Sarah, formerly of Kinston, passed away in Wilson Medical Center.

She was a retired registered nurse, teacher, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilson, and a past member of Airy Grove Christian Church in Kinston.

Her husband, Roy Anson Wooten, and a brother, Thomas Lee Jones, preceded her in death.

The memorial service will be conducted by Dr. Bill Presnell, Rev. Dan Jones and Rev. Mark Benson.

A private burial will be held at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the memorial service and at other times at the home of Sarah and William Pollock in Kinston.

Survivors include daughters Sarah Jones W. Pollock and husband, William, of Kinston, Anson W. Sharpe and husband, Frank, of Wilson; and a sister, Ruby J. Lafferty of Denver, Colo; grandchildren Bill and wife Pam Sharpe of Wilson, Julie and husband Randy Warren of Raleigh; and great-grandchildren Whitney and Jake Warren; and sisters-in-law Harriet W. Yelverton and LaVera F. Jones also survive Sarah.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church P.O. Box 1423, Wilson, NC 27893, or to the ECU Foundation, School of Nursing, Greenville, N.C. 27858.

Edwards Funeral Home in Kinston is in charge of arrangements.
