Funeral services for Ethelene Phillips Calhoun, age 84, of Alexandria, will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, 11:00 am at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 till 8 pm at the funeral home.


Mrs. Calhoun passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.


Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Tommy Calhoun, son, Scott Calhoun (Christie), granddaughter, Celia Calhoun, grandson, Bryson Calhoun, brother-in-law, Travis Higgins, sisters-in-law, Elaine Bartos, Vanessa Osborne (Howard), nephews, Tracy Higgins and Tony Higgins.


Mrs. Calhoun was preceded in death by her parents, Walter K. and Grace Phillips, sister, Geraldine Higgins, nephew, Tommy Higgins and a brother -in-law, Tim Bartos.


Mrs. Calhoun was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a longtime devoted member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Calhoun was a very devoted wife, mother, but most of all a loving and caring grandmother for her grandchildren.
