Adelaide Helt, 77, Thief River Falls, died Sunday, July 8, 2001, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Adelaide Marjorie Molland was born Oct. 6, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle (Phillips) Molland, in Nome, N.D., where she graduated from high school in 1941. She moved to Fargo, where she worked at St. Luke's Hospital and attended North Dakota State University for two years. She then attended Interstate Business College, Fargo. She worked at NDSU in the agricultural economics department. She later worked for Northwestern Bell in the accounting department.
She married Lawrence Helt on July 9, 1955, in Fargo. They lived in Alvarado, Minn., for a year. They moved around for three years, while Lawrence was in the U.S. Air Force. They then lived in Mohall, N.D., Thief River Falls from 1965 to 1977, Fargo from 1977 to 1983, Bismarck from 1983 to 1990, New Town, N.D., from 1990 to 1998, returning to Thief River Falls in 1998.
She is survived by her husband; sons, David (Toni), Tim, and Bill; a daughter, Roberta (Ben) Wessolowski; three grandchildren; brothers, Franklin and Robert (Arlene),; and a sister, Jean (James) Norby.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Raden; and a brother, Leland.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thief River Falls.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Bernard's Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
