She was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Spiceland, a daughter of the late George D. and Maude A. Lemay Risk.
She was a graduate of Knightstown High School and Indiana Business College in Indianapolis. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved sharing time with her family, enjoyed traveling and serving in the church. She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church in New Castle. She was the first woman elder emeritus of her church and also served as chairman of the church board, the Christian Women's Fellowship board and a member and teacher of the Keystone Lookout Sunday school class. She also had served on the planning commission to hire new ministers and helped with vacation Bible school. She was a charter member of the Amici Tia Club, Rebecca Lodge, Golden Kiwanis, Woman's Club and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She also attended various clubs and shared slides and experiences of her travels to the Holy Lands.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jessie W. Williams in 1986; a daughter, Darlene E. Alderson in 2005; two sons-in-law, Charles Alderson Jr. in 1999 and Keith E. Anderson in 1987; a sister, Mabel L. Pickens; and a brother, Marion G. Risk; and stepfather, Asa G. James.
She is survived by a daughter, Marian L. (husband: Roger) Wells of Belleview, Fla.; two sons, David W. Williams of Tavares, Fla., and George G. Williams of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Duane (wife: Sue) Benbow, Kenny (wife: Judy) Benbow, Dawn (husband: Jeff) Owens, all of New Castle, Gary (wife: Lana) Anderson of Fort Wayne, Sue Russell of Greenfield, Alice (husband: John) Ray of Springport, Jeff (wife: Debbie) Williams of Vancover, B.C., Canada; Kelly (wife: April) Williams of Indianapolis; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are 11 a.m. with the Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen and Dr. Cloyd Dye officiating.
Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
