MRS. DENISE WOOD, 50 of Live Oak, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Lake City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Jacksonville, FL, daughter of the late George E. and Helen I. Strickland Schalitzky and moved to Live Oak in 1978 from Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Wood was employed with Spirit of Suwannee Café. In her spare time she was a member of the Anna Miller Circle, Live Oak Elks Lodge and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Live Oak. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas F. Wood, Jr.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Douglas Edward Wood, Sr., Live Oak; four daughters, Michelle Bradberry and Christina Corbett, both of Live Oak; Jean Ann Gray (Shane), Haslet, TX and Bobbie Lessman (Jody), Jasper, FL; two sons, Jeff Chaillou (Brandy), Live Oak and Nathan Wood (Nichole), Moundsville, WV; two sisters, Gail Phillips, Quitman,GA; Darilynn Espenship, Lake City; two brothers, Larry Schalitzky, Columbia, SC and Randy Fielding, Live Oak; sixteen grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be conducted on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, Highway 51, Live Oak with Bishop Barney Wainwright officiating.

Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to service at the church.
