Ella Louise Riner, age 80 of Dublin, died Thursday afternoon November 30, 2023, at Lewis Gale Hospital – Montgomery. She was born in Monroe County, West Virginia, on January 28, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Porter Edward Riner and the late Geneva Louise Morris Riner.

Ella was a member of the Dublin Christian Church. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Christian Education from Atlanta Christian College. With this degree, she spent 50 years as a teacher at Mountain Mission School in Grundy, VA, where she helped mold the minds of many children. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Alvin Grey Riner.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Newbern Community Christian Church with Pastor Porter Edward Riner, Jr. and Pastor Richie Goad officiating. Interment will follow in Newbern Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Peters, Russ Hertzog, Ernie Hertzog, Estefan Samuria, Nathan Rodda, Curtis Mullins. The family will receive friends on Monday at the Church from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m.

Flowers will be appreciated, but those who wish may make memorial contributions, in her memory, to the Mountain Mission School 1760 Edgewater Drive, Grundy, VA 24614.
