Marietta Cassatt Dies
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church at Verdella for Mrs. Marietta Cassatt who died at the Ellis-Fischel hospital in Columbia last Saturday morning.
Rev Morris officiated. Burial was in Barton City Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Albert Snodgrass, Archie Charlton, Frank Wolf, Kenneth Smith, Emmet Bunton, and Joe Pomatto.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Phillips sang "Never Grow Old" and "Eastern Gate." Rev. and Mrs. Morris and Miss Rosetta Morris sand "In the Garden." Miss Morris was the accompanist.
Mrs. Cassatt, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Yount of the Verdella neighborhood, was born Dec 17, 1885.
Her husband, Virgil Cassatt, whom she married in Colorado June 28, 1905, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Walter Cassatt of Stage, Ill., Ray Cassatt and Cecil Cassatt of Liberal, Claude Cassatt of Buffalo, N.Y., one daughter Mrs. Lois Manahan of Liberal, 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
