Mr. Hubert Cecil Mash, 88, retired dispatcher with the Maury County Sheriff's Department and longtime resident of Scribner's Mill Road, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services for Mr. Mash will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Scribner's Mill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends after 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Doss Mash and Bessie Osborne Mash. He was married to Frances Marie Hight Mash who preceded him in death on October 23, 2007. Mr. Mash served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Scribner's Mill Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Sara Ann Mash of Culleoka; one niece, Mary Mash of Culleoka; three cousins, Dot Cummings of Columbia; Liz Hickman of Franklin, Betty Johnson of Lynnville; and his caregivers, Nancy Hardy and Joyce Smith. He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Mash. Pallbearers will be Jim White, Chris White, Ryan Gandee, Don Gandee, Pete Ridley, and Tommy Davis.
