He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attained the rank of first lieutenant.
Mr. Church was a high-ranking member of several Masonic organizations, including the Hemet Masonic Lodge and Hemacinto High Twelve Club. He was a Little League coach and ham radio aficionado.
He is survived by his wife, Aurelia; three sons, Gerald of Burbank, Steve of Arizona and Michael of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Amunasen of Oregon.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at McWane Family Funeral Home in Hemet. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery.
