Mr. Jimmy Roger Pickens, 51 years, of Anderson, Missouri departed this life suddenly on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri.

Jimmy was born on February 28, 1957 in Columbiana, Alabama, son of the late William Franklin and Minnie Ruth (Robertson) Pickens. On December 23, 1983 in Birmingham, Alabama he was united in marriage to Rosemary Baumgarten and together they shared the last twenty-four years. They left Alabama and moved their family to Anderson, Missouri in 1993. Jimmy graduated from Crowder College with certification in waste water management. For the last five years he has been employed by Tyson Foods in their waste water division. He enjoyed being outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed attending his sons sporting events. He will be greatly missed.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rosemary Pickens, of the home; four sons, Justin and Tommy Pickens of the home and Brian and Adam Pickens of the state of Alabama; a daughter, Amber Pickens of the state of California; six grandchildren; four siblings, Clara Pickens, Sue Jeffcoat, Wanda Hayes and Billy Pickens all of the state of Alabama; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
