He was killed in battle October 16, 1918, while serving in France.
He received his training at Camps Dix, Gordon and Upton, & went overseas March 1917.
Serving with Company A, 326th Infantry.

Prior to his military service he was a well-known baseball player and worked for Thomas Maddocks & Sons Pottery.

His brother Charles died October 6 of influenza.
