Tom Hickinbotham, son of the late William Beardmore Hickinbotham and Sarah (Knowlton) Hickinbotham, was born October 8, 1887 in Woodsfield, Ohio. He departed this life January 16, 1978 at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 90 years.
He was united in marriage in 1912 to Letha Lippencott.
In 1922 he was united in marriage to Jean Holman Wyatt Freeman, who preceded him in death.
Later he was united in marriage in 1935 at Alton, Missouri to Alma Tadlock.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was a member of the Alton Masonic Lodge #255 AF&AM.
He had lived in Alton since 1928.
He is survived by three sons, Boyd Hickinbotham of Salem, Ark.; Doil Hickinbotham of Thayer, Mo.; and Herman Hickinbotham of Thayer, Mo.; one daughter, Fern Copenhagen of St. James, Mo.; one bother, Roy Hickinbotham of Barnsdall, Okla.; one sister, Mary Young of Caldwell, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
His parents; one son, Glen Hickinbotham; one daughter, Enid Maxine Hickinbotham; four brothers; and four sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Wed., Jan. 18 at the Carter Chapel, with Terry Frizzell officiating. Interment was in Hickory Grove Cemetery under direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
