CAINEVILLE, Wayne County, Utah--Ivan Alma Holt, age 83, died April 3, 1992 at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born March 13, 1909 in Lyman, Utah, a son of Enoch Alfonzo and Altha Elnora Turner Holt. He married Adella Fay Nelson August 30, 1935 in the Logan LDS Temple. He worked at U.S. Steel Mines in Bingham, Utah, then moved to Springville. He served in the Armed Forces, TD Section, stationed in the Philippines during World War II. After the war, he moved to Wayne County where he has since resided. He was a miner by trade, and his hobby was gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Fay; eight children, Carma Faye and Sterling Mason, Spencerport, New York; Thonna Colleen Lawrence, Las Vegas, Nev.; Ivan Lamar and Vicki Holt, South Jordan; Janet and Garson Baker, Torrey; Betty Lou and Jay Yagues, Salt Lake City; Shirley May Kynett, Valier, Mont.; John William and Sherry Holt, Sandy; Donna Ann and John Beard, Huntsville, Tx.; 40 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ernest Voyle Holt, Orem; Stanley Lloyd Holt, Boise, Idaho; Verdella Hatfield, Valeria Averett, and Mrs. Richard (Myrle) Shultz, all Springville; and Thonna Madson, Colton, Calif.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, in the Torrey LDS Chapel, where friends may call for viewing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial with military honors accorded by the American Legion, Harold Brown, Post # 92, will be in the Torrey Cemetery, under the direction of Springer-Turner Funeral Home.
