Francis P. Clarke, TAUNTON, July 3, 1943. Francis P. Clarke, for the past 18 years with the Machinists National Bank here and 13 years as cashier, died at the Truesdale Hospital, Fall River, Friday. He came to Taunton from the National Shawmut Bank in Boston, where he went to work upon his graduation from Harvard in 1900. He was born in Canton, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Driscoll) Clarke. He was active in civic affairs in Taunton, was a director of the local Red Cross Chapter, and a member of the Harvard Club of Taunton, the Lions and the Executive Clubs. He leaves no relatives nearer than cousins.
He has always maintained his home at Manchester-by-the-Sea and a country home at Ashland in the Berkshires. The funeral will be held Monday morning with a solemn requiem mass at St. Mary's Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Canton.
