Fred Adams, 72, of Jena, died at 9:20 p.m., Monday, June 22, 1998, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.

He was a retired well tester, member of East Jena Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the LaSalle Riding Club.

A veteran of World War II. Adams was born Sept. 11, 1925, in LaSalle Parish to the union of Thomas and Rosie Enterkin Adams.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, at the East Jena Baptist Church with the Revs. Craig James and Clyde Sanchez officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Adams of Jena; one step-daughter, Darla Boyd of Trout; one step-son, Danny Perry of Ball; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Adams, Joe Adams, David Jones, Kirby Jones, Kenneth Cruse and Hansen Stringer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunt Petroleum retirees and members of the LaSalle Riding Club.
