He had been employed by Milliken at McCormick Mill for 21 years and was also a cattle farmer and a former member of the Lincoln Co. Board of Education. Survivors: Wife-Elen Holloway Tankersley; Sons-Charles Wayne of Madison and Thomas Brian of Elberton; Daughters-Rhonda T. Ford of Lawrenceville, Melanie Gaye Tankersley of Columbia and brothers Theron, Alton and Stanton of Lincolnton.
