Mexican Statesman. Luis Humberto Ducoing Gamba was born on May 12, 1937, in San Luis de La Paz, the son of Luis Ducoing and Rebeca Gamba. He graduated in Law with a specialization in administrative appeal from the University of Guanajuato in 1960. During his career, he served as a professor of Mexican history and Universal History at the Preparatory School and the University of Guanajuato. A member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), he held various positions within the party, including Secretary of Political Action of the National Executive Committee (CEN) of the PRI. He also served as a federal deputy for Guanajuato on two occasions and as Governor of Guanajuato from 1973 to 1979. During his tenure, he promoted the creation of the Historical Research Directorate for the State Historical Archive and the construction of the Cervantes Theater in Guanajuato. Additionally, he facilitated the acquisition of the Mesón de San Antonio for the University of Guanajuato and the reconstruction of the Manuel Doblado Theater in León. Luis Ducoing Gamba passed away on March 31, 2024, in Querétaro.
