Born Feb. 2, 1924, in Crab Orchard, Ky., he was the son of George and Mary (Wolf) Barnard. He married Lois L. Crane on Feb. 3, 1944, in Lawrence County, and she survives.
He was a retired farmer and mechanic. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
Surviving with his wife, Lois L. Barnard of Bedford, include two sons, Charles Barnard and wife Donna of Columbus, and Danny Barnard of Ellettsville; two granddaughters, Lisa Sego of Bedford and Tonya Williams of Mitchell; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters and one brother; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford with the Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
