Mrs. Ethel Koontz buried Sunday
Mrs. Ethel Koontz, age 75, of Guille Street, Athens, died early Saturday morning in a local hospital.
Mrs. Koontz was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Franklin and Callie Perkins Stowe.
Mrs. Koontz was the widow of Elbert W. Koontz, Sr., who preceded her in death July 3rd, 1968. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Athens.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. J.A. (Martha) Stiles of Kingston; two sons, Elbert W. Koontz, Jr. of Athens and David E. Koontz of Atlanta; five granddaughters and two grandsons; one brother, Roy L. Stowe of Athens.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral services were conducted Sunday 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Vertis Butler officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Nunley, Clifford Wise, Joe Laycock, Warren Longwith, Bill Schultz, and Charles Thompson.
