Catherine Willen April 26, 1919 - November 16, 2016 Catherine Johnson Willen peacefully passed away at the age of 97. She was born in Birmingham, AL and lived in the area most all of her life. She grew up in Norwood before her family moved to Cahaba Heights when her father relocated his business, Johnson Jewelers. She and her husband moved to Vestavia Hills in 1949 where they raised their family. They were charter members of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church and Vestavia Country Club. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Willen, her granddaughter Kelly Catherine Collins, her parents S. O. and Lilly Johnson, daughter-in-law Audrey Willen, her brother Aubrey Johnson, and sisters Lucille Miller, Lillian Suttle, Mildred Erwin, and Jean Hamilton. She is survived by daughter Joy Collins (Jim), son John B. Willen, Jr., grandson James D. Collins, IV (Sandra), great grandsons Michael and Patrick Collins, and many nieces and nephews.
