Karla Faye Istas, age 72, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Parkside Manor.
She was born on September 30, 1950 in Loveland, Colorado, the daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Nelson) Gerard.
Karla graduated from Loveland High School in Loveland, Colorado.
She married Robert "Cool Hand" Istas in Loveland, Colorado on June 30, 1984. They were married 36 years prior to his passing in 2020.
She was employed at Randy's Market for years.
She was a stubborn lady who loved the Kansas City Chiefs, fishing, bowling, softball, but most of all spending time with family.
Karla is survived by her children: Jeramie Firkins (Jami Wallace) of Columbia, Cori Firkins of Colorado; grandchildren: Levi Firkins, Corissa Arnold (Justin), Luvlinn Firkins; great grandchildren: Caidence, Callie, Cameron Arnold; and many other "adopted" children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Jim Gerard, Bill Gerard, and Shorty Gerard.
Services will not be held at this time.
