Professional Basketball Player. He played the center position for the National Basketball Association's Cincinnati Royals, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Capital Bullets, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers from 1966 to 1975. He played basketball collegiately at the University of Kansas, where he was a two-time All-American selection. He also earned consensus All-American honors in 1966 after averaging 20.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He was drafted No. 6 overall in the 1966 NBA Draft by the Cincinnati Royals. He went on to spend nine seasons in the National Basketball Association and played for eight different franchises before retiring after the 1975 season. He averaged 8.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game over 590 career games in the NBA. After retiring, he was inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, Kansas Hall of Fame, and National High School Basketball Hall of Fame. He also had his number 13 retired by the University of Kansas. He passed away after a battle with leukemia.
