Betty Darlene Dunstone Eastman
Returned to her heavenly home at the age of 84, on June 2, 2022 after living her life to the fullest.
Darlene was born in SLC, UT on August 24, 1937 to John and Javona Daniels Dunstone. She resided in Magna, UT throughout her life and graduated from Cyprus High School.
Darlene married Gary Aagard September 3, 1954 and had 4 children; Debbie (Curtis) Privett, Kathy (Randy) Burton, Teddy (Kenna) Aagard, Wendy (Cory) Dimick. Later divorced. Married George Eastman, July 10, 1978 and had a son, Jim Dwayne Eastman. Later divorced.
Darlene was in an automobile accident in 1966 that left her blind. The accident never stopped her from conquering her handicap and leading an active life. She went on to raise her family and was a woman of many talents. From bowling, cooking, and crocheting, to entertaining family and friends and going camping and fishing. She was well known around the Lake Ridge neighborhood where she resided as "The Candy Lady". She had a candy store in her home where all the neighborhood kids came to buy candy.
Always being happy, upbeat and sassy, that's our Granny!
Darlene leaves behind four children, 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, sister Marilyn (Frank) Rushton, brother John Dunstone, and her life partner, Douglas Sly. She was proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Tom; son, Jim; grandsons, Micheal Madrid and Dylan Kierstead; great grandson, Brandon Madrid.
Funeral services and interment will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Valley View Mortuary 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City at 10 am. Viewing from 9-10 am
