Mrs.Annie Brake Dilliard, 83, transitioned on January 22, 2024.

Annie Lee Brake was born February 6th, 1940 in Nash County, NC to the late Ethel Brake Davis and Johnny Anstead.

Annie departed this life on January 22nd, 2024 at the Carrolton of Nash in Rocky Mount, NC. Annie was a friendly person who deeply loved her family. She loved to talk on the phone with her friends and neighbors. Annie had a love for hats, you'd rarely see her without one. She spent her life's work as a caretaker in Richmond, VA for over 40 years before returning home to Nash County, NC for retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pernell Dillard, four brothers: Samuel Earl Brake Sr., David Lee Brake, Hugh James, and Floyd Brake and two sisters: Minnie Marshall and Ernestine Davis. 

Annie leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter Mary B. Davis (Steve) of Nashville, NC, two granddaughters: Brandi C. Brake, Miya D. Davis, one great grandson: AJ Parker of Raleigh, NC, two sisters: Bettie Davis and Viola Slade of Greensboro, NC, special nephew: Clyde Brake and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces. Friendly neighbors of Covenant Court Ernestine, Lucy, Janice, and special friend: Jeremiah.

Annie's family would like to thank each and every individual for their support during this difficult time.

A Visitation for Mrs. Dilliard will be held on Monday,January 29, 2024 beginning at 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Rocky Mount chapel of located at 325 Nash Street in Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. The interment will immediately follow the service at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville, North Carolina.
