ATHENS, Tenn., March 7 – Miss Helen Allen, resident of Athens for many years, died unexpectedly this afternoon in an Athens hospital. She was a native of Rhea County, daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. Nicholas Allen. She was a retired employee of the Athens postoffice. Miss Allen was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Athens Woman’s Club, the UDC and was a past regent here of the DAR. Surviving is one nephew, Richard N. Ivins of Alexandria, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 10 a.m. from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Revs. John Lodge and E. M. Bearden officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family requests no flowers.
