∼Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Iva Curtis Cook Nebeker, 93, died March 24, 1990 in a Gunnison hospital
Born March 3, 1897 in Aldredge, Utah, daughter of Sidney Amos and Mary Ann Andrews Curtis. Married Rudolph Cook May 9, 1916 in Loa, Utah; solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 26, 1929. He died April 13, 1937. Married DeWayne Nebeker April 6, 1946 in Salt Lake City; he died April 15, 1973.
In 1942, the family home in Torrey burned down, so Iva and eight of her ten children moved to Salt Lake to seek employment. For over 20 years she served as a dietician for the Primary Childrens Hospital and for the Army Hospital in Kearns. After her retirement in 1959, she returned to Torrey, where she has resided since. Served as Relief Society President in the Torrey Ward. She faithfully served others. She loved the outdoors.
Survived by children, Coa and Glen Morris, Wales; Utahona and Harvey Williams, Elkview, W.V.; Reahdell and Richard Beck, Sandy; Curtis and Rebecca Cook, Reno, Nev.; Needra Stromberg, Sun City Ariz.; Wade and Kay Cook, Salt Lake City; Wadeen and Harold Strait, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 39 grandchildren; 109 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death three daughters, Clella Pace, Zella Meeks, Phyllis Cook; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, 1 p.m., Torrey LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing, 11-12:30 prior to services. Burial, Torrey Cemetery under direction of Springer-Turner Funeral Home of Richfield.
