Richard Upton was born and grew up in Piqua Ohio.
He attended schools there and went to college at Ohio state. He was in the Korean War and was on the USS Quapaw. He worked in the sales and insurance industry. Before his death, he retired from the Dallas School district where he worked as a carpenter. Richard married Nancy Chase in 1958 in Ohio. They lived in OH, FL, IN ,and finally TX. They had 4 children. His hobbies included coin collecting, bird watching, gardening, camping and building model ships.
