Alan R. McCarthy, beloved husband of the late Sarah "Sally" (nee Hauer) McCarthy. Devoted father of Tara (Keith) Gerhardstein, Dan (Barbara), Sean (Jo Ellen), Mike (Connie) and Don (Isabel) McCarthy. Loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Son of the late Charles A. and Susan (nee McCarthy) McCarthy. Dear brother of Kerin (Ed) Rosen, Barry (Martha) and late Donald McCarthy, late Rita Suer, late Kenneth, late Neil and late Melvin McCarthy, late Jeane Larbes and late Keith McCarthy. Alan served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and retired from the United States Postal Service after nearly 40 years of service. He passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the age of 81.
