Ruthie, as she was called by family, was the daughter of Britton Albert Cook and Mattie Bonner (daughter Joseph Frank Bonner and Eliza Caroline Scurlock),married her step-brother, Sam C. Morris, son of Peter G. Morris and Louise Rhames. Peter was her mother's second husband, who she married in 1901, following the untimely death of her husband, Britton Albert Cook. Following the death of Sam in 1939, Ruthie lived with various family members. She lived at the Cook's Hotel, which was owned by her brother and sister-in-law, Jarrett Bonner Cook and Ethel Abercrombie, from the late 1940's until 1957, following the death of Ethel. She then lived with her nephew, Albert Hopkins Cook and his wife, Ramona, until her death in 1962.
