Jean Fletcher Birmingham, 88 years of age, passed from this life into everlasting, eternal life, early Wednesday morning, May 23, 2007, after an extended illness.
Jean Birmingham was the eldest child of Tony and Minnie (Pace) Fletcher and was born February 21, 1919, in Ivyton, KY.
She came by train with her parents in 1920, to the Wenatchee area where she resided until her death. She married Tom Birmingham on July 12, 1936, in Wenatchee and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2006. She was a charter member of the Wenatchee First Assembly of God Church and had taught Sunday School for many years, as well as being an active member of the Women's Missionary Group. In later years, she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Wenatchee. She worked in retail sales through the years. She had two sons, David Birmingham (Anita) and Larry Birmingham (Phyllis) and one daughter, Nancy Lynn, all of East Wenatchee. She is survived by her husband, Tom Birmingham (99 years of age); her two sons and daughters-in-law; one daughter; one sister, Juanita Stovin (Glen) of Wenatchee; two sisters-in-law, Faye Fletcher of East Wenatchee and Val Fletcher of Moses Lake; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She now joins her parents, Tony and Minnie Fletcher; two brothers, Edward and James Fletcher; an infant brother, Lawrence; and her son-in-law, Jerry Lynn. What a joyous reunion this must have been. A special thanks to everyone who helped make Jean's last days comfortable; the staff at Highline Convalescent Center, Tracie Carter, P.A., the Hospice Staff, Chaplain Scott Langager, and Rick Phillips of Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
