Russell E. Strough, 60, Auto Dealer Dead


Yorkville — Russell E. Strough, 60, of 2 Calder Ave. vice president of Geffen Motors , died Saturday.


He was born in Salisbury Center, son of Wilber and Mae Howe Strough, and attended schools and Dogeville and was graduated from the Syracuse Business College.


He joined Geffen Motors over 25 years ago.

Mr. Strough was a member of the United Commercial Travelers, the Clinton Fish and Game Club, a former member of the Christ Dutch Reform Church.


He married the former Alice Derby in 1924. She died Feb. 20, 1950. In Aug. 1952 he married Loretta Cooney Doran. He leaves besides his wife, a son Wilbur, at home: two daughters, Mrs. Martin Kernor, Whitesboro , and Mrs. Robert Dowd, Utica; one stepson Lawrence Doran, Whitesboro; his father, Wilbur Strough of Ilion, and a brother Lynn E. Strough , Little Falls.


The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 from the John S. Friedel Funeral Home, 1123 Court St., with the Rev. Henry O. Hospera officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
