Faye Buckner, 94, of Buckner passed away on Monday February 18, 2019. She was born in Buckner to Everett and Ruth (Flatt) Overturf on April 21, 1924. She married Logan Buckner on July 22, 1940, and they raised four children; John, Lana, Elva, and Earl. She worked during her life on their dairy farm, as a caregiver, and as treasurer to the village of Buckner. She enjoyed traveling and dancing with her husband until his death on May 1, 1994.
She is survived by her children Lana (Danny) Vukadinovich of Mulkeytown, Elva Martin of West Frankfort, and Earl Buckner of Buckner, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and her brother Ray (Nancy) Overturf of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Logan, son John, and her parents.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider a donation to charity of the donor's choice and will be accepted at funeral home. Visitation is planned for Wednesday February 20, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with graveside service at 2:00 PM at the Masonic and IOOF cemetery in Benton IL. A meal to celebrate Faye will follow at St. Andrews Catholic Chapel Parish Hall.
