He also belonged to the Lafayette Lodge, No. 42, International Order of Odd Fellows and was accepted as a member in August 10, 1886 and initiated on August 24, 1886. He was a member of the Masons being a past master of Hamilton Lodge #15 in 1908. He was also a charter member of the South Foster Fire Company.
