DEATH CLAIMS HERMAN BAUTE
Aged Retired Farmer Dies at Hospital Following Long Illness.

Herman W. Baute, 83, a retired farmer and life-long resident of Bartholomew county, died at 1:30 o'clock this morning in the county hospital where he was taken Monday. He had been in failing health for the past two years.

Brief funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon at Barkes and Fox funeral home. Services will follow at 2 o'clock at Waymansville Lutheran church. Rev. W. C. Breda will be in charge of both rites and burial will be made in the Seymour Lutheran cemetery. The casket will be open at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight.

The deceased was married in 1892 to Anna Otte, who preceded him in death in 1935. He was a member of Waymansville Lutheran church and had made his home with a son, Clifford, on Route 6.

Survivors include five sons, Clifford, Oscar and Frank of this county, and Albert and Martin, both of Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Ed Von Dielingen of Route 3, Seymour; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
