Connie I. Minnich was known as Connie Walker when she worked as a crossing guard for the Elyria schools from the mid-1950s until 1964.
She was a past noble grand of the Rebekkah Lodge and charter member of the Church of the Open Door in Elyria.
Mrs. Minnich, 82, of Elyria, died Sunday at Hennis Care Center in Dover.
She was born in Huntington Township and lived in Elyria since early childhood. In 1931, she graduated from Elyria High School.
Mrs. Minnich, who enjoyed making craft items with beads, was a member of the Carlisle Craft Club and the Carlisle Grange.
She and her first husband, Frank Walker, were the parents of two children. He died in 1979. Their daughter, Carol L. Peters, died the following year.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Gilbert; son Keith W. Walker of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
