Distressing, Accident Robs Homes Of Youthful Members.
WELLINGTON, OH., Sept. 5 -- Struck by east bound Big Four passenger train No. 26 at 8:08 p.m. Sunday, Fred Handley, Harold Pifer and Howard Rugg, seventeen-year-old boys, were instantly killed, their bodies being badly mangled.
The three lads, sons of farmers at Huntington, had driven into town to meet the Big Four excursion from Cleveland. They were crossing in front of this train as it was standing at the station, where they were struck by the east bound passenger train, which does not stop here. Witnesses say the headlight of the latter was not lighted.
