Patsy Jo (Shorter) Gilbert, 75, wife of James E. Gilbert of 1084 Laurel Hill Road, Staunton, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. She was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Ardith and Louise (Lynn) Shorter.
Mrs. Gilbert retired from American Safety Razor with 32 years of service.
She was a member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sharon Gilbert of Staunton; two grandchildren, Amanda and Justin Gilbert; a stepdaughter, Gail Smith and her family; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery by the Revs. Galen Combs and Isaac Harper.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at Henry Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law at 737 Indian Mound Road in Staunton.
