E. Eugene Barton, 61, of rural Hillsboro, Died Monday, May 10, 1993 at his home.
Born August 13, 1931, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Earl and Leah McDowell Barton. He married Clara Stonebaker June 8, 1958, at Stockport.
He was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church. He was a farmer and up until his ill health, had worked at Double Circle Farm Supply, Bonaparte.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kevin Barton and Kent Barton, both of Ottumwa; a brother, Donald McDowell of Wever; a sister, Marilyn Hahn of Sigourney; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral was held Thursday, May 13 at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, the Rev. David Callen officiated. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
