Elizabeth Houser was born Jan. 14, 1827 in Tobyhanna township, Northampton Co., later Monroe Co., Pennsylvania the 2nd child of George & Catharine (Becker) Bonser.

Elizabeth married Josiah Houser son of Charles & Mary Catherine (Eyer) Houser, in Monroe Co., Pennsylvania in 1852 and they had at least 8 children. Six daughters and two sons; Mary, Sarah Jane, Edwin, Lydiann, Susannah, William Henry, Emma Elizabeth and Amelia C. Houser.

Elizabeth & Josiah moved to Nemaha Co., Kansas about 1868. Elizabeth died May 30, 1889 at the age of 62. She is buried close by her sister Sarah (Bonser) Houser in Cincinnati Cemetery, Pawnee Co., Kansas.

Sisters Elizabeth & Sarah Bonser married brothers Josiah & William Houser & both moved their families from Pennsylvania to Nemaha Co., Kansas in 1868.

Died at her home four miles NorthWest of Bern, Nemaha Co., Kansas on Saturday March 30, 1889. Mrs. Josiah Houser after an illness of four days. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
