William Jackson's obituary
Tribune, Marysville, Ohio
January 12, 1887
JACKSON -- Died near Broadway, Ohio, January 5, 1887, William Jackson, aged 74 years, 11 months and 23 days.
Father Jackson was born in Waldo County, Maine, January 12th, 1812. He emigrated to the State of Ohio in the spring of 1845. He was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Mulvane, October 14th, 1833. This was a union of hearts as well as hands, and was blessed to them in birth of seven children--four sons and three daughters. The youngest of the daughters, crossed the river three years in advance of her father, and was waiting to welcome him to the joys of heaven.
The body of father Jackson now rests in the Broadway cemetery, to wait the resurrection of the just, when it will be clothed in immortality, and join that innumerable throng above.
Father Jackson was one of the most inoffensive men we ever know--always at peace with his family and neighbors, and did without an enemy. He leaves his aged companion and children, with many relatives and friends to mourn his departure, but not as those that have no hope. Father Jackson will be waiting at the portals of heaven to welcome his companion, children and many friends to the joys that await the faithful in the sweet bye and bye.
Funeral at Broadway, January 7th, 1887, conducted by Rev. J.A. Sutton. The text was taken from the 37th Psalm and 37th verse: "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace." P.C.
