ALLEN SERVICES SCHEDULED TODAY
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 from the Sardis Baptist church for Alonzo Washington Allen, Copiah county resident who died at a local hospital early yesterday morning. Rev. Clark, pastor, will officiate.
Mrs. Allen was 82 years of age at the time of his death and was well known in Copiah county, where he farmed for a number of years. At the time of his death he was visiting with his daughter, Mrs. L. F. Payne, 1328 Terry road. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are one son, C. O. Allen, Alligator; four daughters, Mrs L. F. Payne, Jackson; Mrs. L. H. Ryals, Texarkana, Ark.; Mrs. W. T. Beall, Wilson, Ark.; Mrs. Hunt Ainsworth, Lorman; one brother, S. L. Allen, Hazlehurst, and three sisters, Mrs. Maggie James, Mrs. Sue Windham and Mrs. Willie Magee, all of Hazlehurst.
The body will lie in state at the home of Mrs. Payne until time for the service this afternoon. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
Active pall bearers will be E. H. Beall, H. E. Sinter, H. G. McIntosh, A. J. James, Oriam McCargle and Thedore Rials.
Honorary pall bearers will include S. L. Allen, Ellis Allen, C. Windham, R. L. Stephens, W. L. Stephens and W. T. Beall.
