LEWIS RANDY MARKS, 40, known as "Mooney" to all who knew him, of SPRING LAKE, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 11, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Neptune, he was a lifelong Spring Lake resident. Randy was employed as a carpenter for the Borough of Spring Lake for the past three years. Prior to this, he had worked alongside his brother for Marks Brothers Construction for a number of years and he had also worked at Fitness Lifestyles, Asbury Park. He was a lifelong member of the Goodwill Fire Co. 2 and the Spring Lake Fire Co. 1 of which he was instrumental in the recent reconstruction of the entire firehouse. He was also a coach for the Spring Lake-Sea Girt Little League. His family had described Randy as the hardest working guy in the world; if he knew you, he loved you; he was a real man's man; and the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan in the world. He will be forever remembered in all of their hearts.

He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond E. and Janet Lea Norris Marks; and his brother, Robert A. Marks. He is survived by his cherished wife and best friend, Susan Keane Marks; his six children, Tilly, Lewie, Shar Shar, Bobbo, T, and Janie Marks; his brother, Raymond E. Marks Jr. of Long Branch; his in-laws, Joyce and Stephen Keane of Spring Lake Heights; his aunt, Elizabeth Bailey of Jensen Beach, Fla.; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joyce and John Vorbach, Michael and Laura Keane, Stephen Keane, Megan and Dave Frost, Ellen and Doug Ganssle, Sharon and Tim McAloon, and Amy Keane; his many nieces and nephews, Lyndsey Marks, Shannon and Mike Keane, Stephen, Emily, Matt, Billy, David and Patrick Frost, Chelsea, Andrew, Douglas, and Mae Ganssle, and Eleanor, Susan, Luke, and James McAloon; and lastly his many friends that were as close to him as brothers and were his lifelong friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Spring Lake. Burial will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan. In lieu of flowers, the family specifically requests donations to a memorial fund that is being established in Randy's name for the benefit of his six children. Donations may be sent care of his brother-in-law, Tim McAloon, 26 Myrtle Ave., Chatham, NJ 07928.
