Mr. Varner was born 4 Apr. 1905, in Olney, Ill, and was a retired farmer and member of First United Methodist Church, where he was in the Fuller Bible Class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Helen Varner, who died in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Rogers of Texarkana, Ar.; two sons, William L. "Bill" Varner and Joe C. Varner of Fulton; one brother, Claude H. Varner of Gorland, Ar.; a sister, Ollie Thorp of Texarkana; six grandchilddren' and two great-grandchildren.
Services were 5 April 1991 at the Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Langley officiating. Burial is in East Memorial Garadens.
