Richard W. Goetz, 78, of Rockford passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008. He was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Rockford, the son of William and Marion Goetz. He was owner of Lafayette Electronics and owner of Goetz Realtors, and he worked for Audio Installers. Veteran of the Army Serving in the Korean War. Member of St Stanislaus Church. Survived by Mark Goetz of Florida and Sharon (Kevin) Merkle of Stillman Valley; grandchildren, Cassandra, Jorden and Tyler Goetz, Shane, Zachary (Lindsey), Corey, Erik, Jake and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Myah, Rylee and Haylie; sister, Marie Hart; brother, William Goetz; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Carol Holden. Predeceased by his parents. Service at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 13, in St Stanislaus Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. to service time; Father Peter Sarniki will officiate. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
