Mary Lou Stephens, 96, passed away at her home in Petal on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Petal Harvey Baptist Church with interment in Walters Cemetery to follow.
Mary Lou was a homemaker and a member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She enjoyed painting, especially in oils. For many years, she taught a ladies Bible study in her home as well as teaching a Sunday School Class at Crestview Baptist Church when she was a member there. She is adored by all her many nieces and nephews and all who knew her.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Harvey Stephens; a son, Paul Stephens; parents, Luther and Telcie Carter; three sisters, Lucy Davis, Billie Taylor; and Mattie Baylis.
