Mrs. Hatue ChappeU passed away
Thursday evening January fifteenth,
at nine thirty at her
home, 177 Cleveland Street, after
an illness of a few hours.
She leaves to mourn their loss, a
daughter, Mrs. Flora Schulke of
Elyria, a son, Homer G, of Cleveland,
two grandsons, James Mc-
Donald Sawyer of Cleveland, and
Neil Schulke of Elyria; three
granddaughters, Grace A. Schulke
___ of Elyria, and Donna and Mary
Ellen Chappell of Cleveland; also
A sister, Grace A. Sharp of Fair
bury, 111.
Hattie A. Sharp was born in
Painesville, Ohio, February iwenty
first, 1S53. From there she went
with her parents to Fairbury, Illinois,
in 1867. She was married
there to N. S. McDonald, February
twenty-first, 1871. To this union
were born two daughters, Linnie
and Flora. Mr. McDonald passed
away in 1881, after which Mrs. Mc-
Donald moved to Belvidere, Illinois,
where shs engaged in the millinery
business, until her marriage
to George Chappell of Elyria, Ohio,
June twentieth, 1892. To this union
was born a. son, Homer G. Chappell.
George Chappell passed
away In 1S97.
Immediately after coming to Elyria,
Mrs. Chappell became affiliated
' with all the activities of the Methodist
church, having served as
president of the Women's Foreign
, Missionary Society for many years,
i and has been a faithful member of
the Board of Trustees of the Elyria
Home for the Aged from 1907.
The members of the Home were
always made happy by her regular
visits. Mrs. Chappell was a member
of Circle No. 2 of the Ladies'
Aid of the Methodist church.
She was also a member of the
Unity Club from its organization.
The funeral will be held Saturday
afternoon at three o'clock from
the Methodist church.
