Edith, age 94, passed away at the home of her daughter; she had been in failing health. She was the daughter of Charles H. and Ida Belle (Acridge) Rexwinkle. She married Cecil Ray Kimrey. She married Bruce Stephens. Survivors include her daughters, Betty Johnston, Jessie Foister, and Karen Adolph, 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Opal Bryson, Virgil Rexwinkle, Darlene Clithero, Bill Rexwinkle, Ann Gerdes, and Ralph Rexwinkle. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her sons, Charles Kimrey and Cecil Kimrey, and her siblings, Ella Rexwinkle, Earnest Rexwinkle, Ethel Pruitt, Charles Rexwinkle, Leonard Rexwinkle, and Clara Kimrey. A graveside service was held at Elm Grove Cemetery immediately following the funeral service of her son, Charles Kimrey who died Friday. The casket will remain closed.Edith L. Edith L. (Kimrey) Stephens Vaughn, died at the home of her daughter late Sunday evening. She had been in failing health.

She was born April 19, 1914 near Edna, Kansas to Charles H. and Ida Belle (Acridge) Rexwinkle. She grew up south of Edna, Kansas and attended the Plainview School in Oklahoma. She was married to Cecil "Ray" Kimrey on ____________ at _______________. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1951. Following their marriage, they operated a saw mill and she also worked at a cafe owned by her mother called Belle's Cafe. She was later married to Bruce Stephens. _______________. Following her husband's death she would sit with elderly and terminally ill people.

She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She also loved being with her grandchildren. In the past she had been a member of the Baptist Church at Edna. She was also formerly a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors: Three Daughters: Betty Johnston and her husband, Jimmy of Edna. Jessie Foister and her husband, Howard of Edna. Karen Adolph and her husband, Fred of Edna. A graveside committal service will be held Tuesday morning at the Elm Grove Cemetery at Edna immediately following the funeral service of her son, Charles Kimrey, who died Friday. Friends may call at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home at Altamont from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday. The casket will remain closed.
