Mary, age 100, died on a Monday at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Born in Waupun, Wisconsin, she lived in Madison until 1985, when she and her husband moved to Eau Claire. Norma married Norbert "Dick" Bongard on September 2, 1929 in Madison. A strong woman of faith, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Eau Claire and volunteered her time at St. Johns' Apartments. She was a kind and very caring person and will be missed greatly by those whose lives she touched. Mary is survived by her son, James Bongard; daughter, Mary Husebo; many grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Croft of Madison; other relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; parents, Elise and Edward Maloney; and four brothers, John, Robert, Thomas, and James Maloney. Her funeral and burial occurred on Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Oregon, Wisconsin.Mary Norma Bongard, age 100, died on Monday, May 5, 2008 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
Mary Norma (Maloney) was born on Nov. 16, 1907, in Waupun. She lived in Madison until 1985, when she and her husband moved to Eau Claire. Norma married Norbert "Dick" Bongard on Sept. 2, 1929, in Madison. A strong woman of faith, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Eau Claire and volunteered her time at St. John's Apartments. She was a kind and very caring person and will be missed greatly by those whose lives she touched.
Mary is survived by her son, James (Kathy) Bongard of Blue Mounds; daughter, Mary (Don) Husebo of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Rick (Deb) Bongard of Belleville, Duane (Kay) Bongard of Oregon, Mike Bongard of Edgerton, Connie (Bill) Johnson of Hollandale, Deb (Kel) Kavanagh of Eau Claire and Kim Helmer of Ellsworth; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Croft of Madison; other relatives; and friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Holy Mother of Consolation Church, 651 N. Main St. in Oregon, with Father William Connell officiating. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Oregon. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
