Ogdensburg Daily Journal - July 26, 1905
Mrs. Hiram Chase, late of Silver Hill, but for the past six weeks staying with her daughter, Mrs. Emma Colton, of Oswegatchie, was buried in the Hermon cemetery yesterday afternoon, the funeral being held here in the Adventist church at 1 o'clock, Rev. L. D. Green, of Copenhagen, officiating.

Mrs. Chase had been a great sufferer for several years and death came to her at the age of 81 as a relief. She had for many years resided among us and was a kind neighbor, faithful mother and1 had not an enemy in the world to the knowledge of the writer.

She was a member of the M.E. church and although, for years unable to attend the services was always faithful to such religious privileges whenever able in former days. She is survived by two daughters and two sons, besides several grandchildren. Her two sons, Horace of Michigan, and John, who is working in Antwerp, were unable to be present at the funeral.

Among the relatives from out of town present at the funeral were Mrs. McKee, of Edwards, niece of the late Hiram Chase; Mrs. Truman Witherell and daughter Mabel, of East Road; Mrs. Emma Colton, son Rolla and daughters Eliza and Maud, of Oswegatchie.
