George A Miller was born in Ohio to Dr David Miller and Mary Copp Miller, joining a sister Ellen. About 1856 a sister Melvina joined the family. Not sure if his mother died or left the family, by 1861 his father married Sarah Jane Warner/Warnes in Marshall County, Indiana. April 8, 1883 George married Sarah Alice Holem/Holm. In 1884 they moved to what became Eagle Township, Brule County, South Dakota and settled on the north side of the Bijou Hills, his father Dr David Miller and his step-mother settled south of the hills, almost due east of the town of Bijou Hills. Where they resided until their deaths.

George and Sarah Alice had 6 children, Mable Gertrude Miller Werder, Loria Floyd Miller (died age 14), Georgia Alice Miller Swanson Sicko, David Peter Miller, Leon Holem Miller, Alta Zola Miller Woodraska.

His descendants resided on the farm until the death of his grandson Walter Glenn Miller in 1991.
